Disciple Them Like Jesus Video Series

Welcome to the video supplement to the book, Disciple Them Like Jesus. Each of the 8 sessions corresponds to one of the 8 chapters in the book. To get the most of the study we recommend you work through the videos and book with a group, taking advantage of the discussion questions at the end of each chapter.

Session 1 - Parenting’s Primary Purpose

Become more intentional as a parent by embracing God’s main objective with your kids. Simply put, parenting is discipleship.

Session 2 - Disciple Like Jesus

There’s no argument that Jesus was an effective at discipling the twelve. What exactly did He do, and how can we apply what He did to what we do with our kids?

Session 3 - Abiding: Walking with God

Fundamental to Jesus’ life and work was that He was one with the Father. As parents, we must see intimacy with God as foundational to anything good we hope to build into our kids.

Session 4 - Modeling: Living an Authentic Christian Life

There are three pillars to life-changing discipleship, and Jesus was the master of each. The first is modeling, or giving our kids a clear example in us of what it looks like to follow Jesus.

Session 5 - Teaching: Pointing Your Children to the Truth

The second pillar of Jesus’ discipleship was teaching; He communicated clearly what Kingdom living looked like. As parents, we must have a plan to teach a biblical worldview to our kids.

Session 6 - Applying: Giving Your Children Opportunities to Live Out Their Faith

The third pillar is application. Just as Jesus sent out his disciples to practice what He was teaching them, we must give opportunities to put their faith into practice and to “taste and see that the Lord is good.”

Session 7 - Connecting: Maintaining the Love Relationship with your Child

With his disciples, Jesus did everything in the context of relationship. As parents, we must capture and then work tenaciously to maintain the hearts of our kids.

Session 8 - Now Go Make Disciples

It’s time to get started. Evaluate how you’re doing and ask God to empower you to take a few baby steps in becoming a parent who disciples like Jesus.
