Topics Available for Local Events

Churches who host Barrett and Jenifer combine the content they need with a schedule that works in their context. A single, focused event on one evening works best for some. Many churches have had success hosting a “family focus Sunday” where Barrett and Jenifer lead several hours of content on a Sunday morning (and often the Sunday sermon), as well as several hours of teaching in the afternoon. Other churches commit to an entire weekend, with marriage/parenting events on Friday night, Saturday morning, and even Sunday. What works best for you? They can probably make that happen!

Talks to Equip Our Kids to Navigate The Culture:

Critical Conversations – Helping our Kids Navigate a Hyper-Sexualized Culture (From 1.5 to 2.5 hours)

This workshop covers many of the issues addressed in The Talk(s) and covers both “what to know” and “what to do” to help our kids make wise choices. Parents leave with the tools they need to have ongoing conversations about physical changes, dating, porn, social media and God’s awesome design for sex. It is great for parents of teenagers but ideal for parents of 1st through 7th graders. Click HERE to find out more.

Parenting the Smartphone Generation (about 1.5 hours)

Helps parents get a plan as their kids become connected to their friends (and the world) through technology. Specifically, it addresses the long-term effects our kids will face due to having constant digital availability. It gives parents the tools they need to talk about the “wild west” of social media, the easy accessibility of porn, and some of the risks associated with constant connection with their peers and the internet. There is both good and bad news as it relates to our kids and smartphones. This presentation helps parents understand (and act on) both.

The Devastating Impact of Porn on Our Families (1.5 hours)

This session addresses the many ways pornography is affecting how our world views sex. We look at its impact on marriage, our young people, and the culture as a whole. Best practices are shared for insulating our families, restoring and embracing God's design for sexuality,  and for helping the church to become a place of restoration for those whose lives have been impacted by porn use.

Guy's Night Out (2 hours)

Drawing from The Young Man's Guide to Awesomeness, this special event is designed to get fathers and sons talking about the essential issues of manhood. Using creative communication, videos, and examples from today's headlines, we help fathers and sons talk openly about porn, girls, and living lives of purpose.

Renovate Your Marriage (For couples of all ages – 4 to 6 hours)

We talk openly about the keys (and real challenges) to building a satisfying marriage. Covered issues include expectations, conflict, male/female differences, sex, spiritual connection and much more. Couples leave with practical tools, a reminder of God’s design and provision, and hope that they can finish strong together.

Purposeful Parenting (2 to 3 hours)

If you're going to be successful at anything, you have to know what your goals are. This workshop helps parents align their aim with God’s big plans for their kids and to learn practical ways to bring purpose to the everyday activities of parenting. This content is often partnered with our Critical Conversations Event for a parenting weekend with effective outreach into the community.

Basic Training for Men (Typically 4 hours - Barrett only)

Every man feels the burden of being the “spiritual leader in the home” but few have any idea what that means. We summarize God’s calling to authentic manhood and discuss how to overcome the many challenges that get in the way. Then we eat bacon.
