I have had several people ask me to post my thoughts on the literary phenomenon that is "Fifty Shades of Grey." I have had every intention of doing so. However, my free time has been swamped with details of my daughter's wedding this weekend, so I haven't been able to give it the time I feel this issue deserves.

The themes within E.L. James' trilogy of books are troubling, to say the least. I could innocently assume that no Christ-follower with any conviction would invest their time and money in them. However, the fact that all three of the books sit at the top of the New York Times Bestseller list proves that they have entered the collective consciousness. I must assume that people reading my blog have either read or are considering reading the books.

Dave Boehi of Family Life posted a great commentary today on "Fifty Shades of Grey" that captures much of what I have been thinking. I would recommend you read his article, Fifty Shades of Caution. It is excellent.

After you read his article, please post your comments, either here or on Facebook. I'd love to hear your thoughts. But don't just give your personal opinion. Instead, I would love for your insights to reflect a Biblcial perspective, as that is the only way to adequately and effectively engage with our culture.

I'm just sayin'....
